"BEGINNER BLAST CLASS" -- Group Sessions Available Now
Are you a brand new golfer or are you ready to try golf for the first time? We have just the classes for you! It is vitally important to learn to swing and putt properly from the beginning, so you don’t have to spend years trying to “undo” any bad habits you may develop without proper instruction. Set yourself up for golfing success! Our patient, friendly, experienced instructors place an emphasis on learning the proper fundamentals to get you started on a successful path to good golf.
Adult Beginner Blast 1 Class (ages 14 & up): This two-hour introductory class covers all the basics: putting, chipping, full swing, rules and etiquette. You’ll learn some practice techniques to guide you as you develop your skills. Our approach is to teach you the entire golf swing from the ground up, gaining a solid foundation on which to build. Bring any questions you may have, as this is a perfect opportunity to have a professional instructor guide you on the right path. This class is for those who have never played before or for anyone newly introduced to golf who wants to work on developing good fundamentals.
Adult Beginner Blast 2 Class: A one-hour continuation class to brush-up on what you learned in Beginner Blast 1. This class will cover putting, chipping and full swing with a review of techniques from first class and checking to make sure you are correctly practicing what you learned. It will also cover new techniques to advance your skills, review of your clubs or determine if you are ready to buy your own clubs, and discussion about the next steps to advance your golf game. This class is for anyone who already took Beginner Blast 1 or for players with good grasp of fundamentals who want to brush up techniques. You may attend this class even if you haven’t taken the first class.
Junior Beginner Blast Class (ages 7-13): Same as the Adult Beginner Blast class, but in one hour (kids learn faster!)
Beginner “Ready for the Course” Q&A Discussion: From time to time we have a FREE class where you can come ask one of our golf professionals any questions you may have about going to the golf course and what you should know before you do. They’ll answer your “how-to” questions about taking your game from the range to the course. We have handouts covering the most frequently asked questions so you can take it home and read it at your leisure. Discussion topics: etiquette do's and don'ts, should I keep score and what is a handicap, what do I need in my golf bag and in my pockets, how to set up a tee time and where are good beginner courses in this area, what is "pace of play", do I have to know the rules, and what is “proper golf course attire.” This is a great chance to talk to a pro – and there are NO stupid questions. We’re talk about anything you want.
Loaner Clubs: CGC provides free left- and right-hand clubs and putters for men, women and juniors to use during your lesson time until you decide to purchase your own.
Pricing: These classes are especially low-priced to give you a chance to see if you even like golf (which we know you will after these classes!). Take advantage of this great way to learn the game of golf. Each class includes range balls and rental clubs. Each class is limited to eight students to ensure you get personal attention.

Practice SmartHow many of us go the range and beat balls for an hour? Is our game really improving? Remember that the practice session is the recording session for the subconscious mind and imperative for playing "in the zone."
When we practice we need to think of it as simulating our playing time on the golf course. Every practice session should start with some simple stretching exercises.
Beginning: Hit balls with the shorter clubs initially before working into the full swing.
Long game: When you are hitting balls, pick a different target every couple of shots and go through your pre-shot routine each time.
Chipping: Chip a ball toward a hole, then go putt it in the hole. Repeat with each chip.
Putting: Direct one ball to each hole until you drop it in the hole, so you are practicing the process of (hopefully) one- or two-putting each green.
Remember, the practice swing is just as important as the real swing in play -- so make sure you focus on the target and the intended ball flight as if it were the real thing.
