Hit a bucket of balls for fun!
Carlsbad Golf Center is truly a place for all golfers - and even non-golfers who enjoy hitting a bucket of balls from time to time. Beginners and experts, men, women and children of all ages flock to CGC for the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere in our pro shop. We open early and stay open late almost every day of the year - so we're here when you have time for fun or when you need to buy a dozen balls for tomorrow's round.
Customers quickly become members of the CGC family because we feature the highest quality at reasonable prices at our driving range. We use only the best artificial grass mats available, the most durable soft-feel range balls, and keep our grass putting green in excellent shape year-round.
CGC proudly serves as the practice home of aspiring professional golfers and several local high school teams. If these competitive players love our facility, you will as well.
CGC is active in the local community and is available to help with fundraisers and special events. Please contact the pro shop for more information: 760-720-GOLF (4653).

Lag for PowerFor club control one of the first things a golfer should learn is how to keep the club head lagging behind the hands through impact. Many golfers believe effort is power. Just look at any driving range and see what I mean. No amount of effort can produce more power than a player’s maximum turning speed. We simply can not push anything faster than we can run. The next time you practice keep these key points in mind and increase your lag to improve.
- Never push when you can pull.
- Never allow the slightest change in grip pressure.
- Never move the club from the wrists let the club move the wrist.
- Never stop the hands let them run out of gas.
Club head speed is measured by how fast it goes through impact, not by how fast it passes the hands. Always allow your hands to be transported to the end of the follow through with a lagging club head.
